Marrakech- Ksar Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate thegate of the desert
Marrakech is located 200 kilometers from Ouarzazate, with a beautiful landscape along the drive across the Tizi n'Tichka pass. The pass rises to around 2200 meters above sea level. It is located on the road between Marrakech and Ouarzazate and allows access to the semi-desert sections of the Atlas from the more fertile lowlands of the Atlantic coast.Departure at 8 a.m. from the Hotel in Marrakech for Ouarzazate (Morocco Hollywood) and the gate of the Great Desert, via Telouet Valley, the Region of the Lord of the Atlas Thami Elglaoui, visit his -Kasbahs and palaces, then continue through the Ounila Valley with its beautiful Kasbahs and Berber Villages to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, stops along the road to photograph breathtaking scenery, Berber Villages, Local People (Berber People), Kasbahs, and Palmgroves Lunch at the kasbah, short tour and photos of Ait Ben Haddou, ksar (fortified city) classified as World Heritage by UNESCO and dubbed "Mont-Saint-Michel des chleuhs" (Berber |people of southern Morocco) during the French rule, then proceed to Ouarzazate. Traditional Riad for dinner and overnight.
Ouarzazate- Atlas Studio Movie and Palm Oasis of Skoura
Skoura is the first stop on the 1,000-kasbah route connecting Ouarzazate and Tafilalet. It was founded in the 12th century by the Almohad dynasty, according to mythology. The palm grove was named after the Haskourene Berber tribe who lived there at the time. Since then, many people, notably Arab tribes from Tafilalet, have followed one another, creating Skoura an Arab area in Berber nation today. If Skoura Intramuros, modest and unassuming, does not leave an indelible impression and is not distinguished from the small towns that line the road of the thousand kasbahs, it is quite different from its vast palmgrove with preserved cultures, a rich historical past, and ancient buildings that have been restored and are famous for some.
Skoura's palm forest is a true maze of roughly 50 km2, accessible by automobile and on foot. Palm trees, olive trees, and almond trees provide shade. The dry trails that follow the path of the sun lead to earth mansions, some of which date from the 17th century. It's a nice stopover before continuing on to the nearby Almond Valley, Rose Valley, Dades and Todra Gorges and Valleys.
Palm grove in Skoura. The Skoura oasis consists of a collection of small adobe towns and kasbahs linked by a tangle of narrow walkways and paths surrounding the fields in the shade of the many palm trees and fruit trees.
Skoura Kasbah. Many palm trees, but also olive and almond trees, plant the decor in harmony with the kasbahs dating from the 17th century for some. These adobe fortification structures are plentiful and frequently visited. The remarkable Amerhidil kasbah was built in the 17th century by the master of the Qur'an of Glaoui. The tour of the internal courtyard and apartments enables us to comprehend some norms of communal life in such a structure: the 5 windows of the prayer room representing the 5 pillars of the Koran; the 4 towers servicing the 4 wives of the owner. A modest museum displays daily things as well as an olive press.
Departure at 9 a.m. for a visit to the Atlas StudioMovie, followed by a visit to the Skoura palm grove and the historic Kasbahs (Kasbah Amridil), ksours, and Jewish Mellahs.-Take a one-hour stroll around the Palmeraie to learn about the structure and operation of peasant life (pottery and oasis agriculture).
Possibility of visiting the Berber settlement of Sidi Flah (15 km trail) (2 hours walking) or relaxing by the pool.
