Arrive in Casablanca, Airport code (CMN) | (D)
When you arrive in Casablanca, Morocco's commercial capital, you will be met and driven to your Casablanca hotel, where you will check in and relax for the day.
Before going out to supper at a local restaurant, the group will have a welcoming meeting and orientation.
Casablanca | (B, D)
Today will begin with an early sunrise shoot on the beach overlooking the Hassan II Mosque, followed by a return to the hotel for breakfast.
We will tour the interior of the Hassan II Mosque in the morning and then have a trip about the city to photograph some of the art deco structures and local food stalls.
After lunch, we'll go to the old medina to photograph and learn about the fruit and vegetable souks. You might wish to try some delicious dried fruit, such as dates or apricots.
Casablanca / Rabat / Chefchaouen | (B, D)
After an early breakfast, we'll depart for Chefchaouen, Morocco's famous blue city in the Rif Mountains. On the way, we'll stop in Rabat, Morocco's capital and King's house, to experience the magnificent seaside city. This will be a quick visit, but you'll get some fantastic photos of the La Tour Hassan Tower, Mausoleum, and Chellah.
After we finish our tour of Rabat, we'll head to Chefchaouen for the night. We'll stop for an alfresco lunch at a traditional local eatery along the way.
We'll check into our Riad in Chefchaouen and enjoy an early dinner. Following that, we may have time to explore Morocco's famous "blue town."
Chefchouen | (B,D)
We'll go on an early morning walk and photograph the streets of Chefchaouen before returning to the Riad in time for breakfast.
We'll take a tour of this "cool" blue village tucked away in the mountains after breakfast. This city is literally made for photography. As we walk through the streets of "Chaouen," you'll have plenty of opportunities to photograph the bright colors and textures of this magnificent town.
We'll eat at a local restaurant before photographing the blue hour from a vantage point overlooking the city.
Chefchaouen / Fes | (B, D)
In the morning, we'll have one more chance to capture the streets of Chefchaouen.
We'll leave after breakfast for Fes, Morocco's cultural and spiritual center.
We'll see the potters when we get in Fes; this fascinating visit will give you an idea of how this handicraft has existed for hundreds of years.
We'll watch the sunset over Fes' old medina this afternoon.
Fes | (B, D)
Today, we'll shoot and tour the medina, one of the world's largest walled-in cities.
We'll walk through the narrow lanes lined with fresh fruit and spices, as well as the tanneries and craftspeople of Fes.
We'll have time in the afternoon to explore the Galawi Palace. This historic palace is the ideal setting for a picture shoot with models dressed in traditional attire.
In the late afternoon before dinner, we'll have some free time to rest.
Fes | (B, D)
We'll begin our day with a leisurely breakfast before exploring and photographing the Jewish neighborhood.
In the afternoon, we'll have extra time to photograph in the medina.
You might also take a cooking class (not included) or go shopping.
Fes / Erfoud / Merzouga | (B, D)
We'll start our ascent across the Middle Atlas Mountains after an early breakfast. We'll spend the majority of the day navigating our way through gorgeous forests, steep rock walls, and Berber communities.
We'll stop for lunch halfway through at Midelt, a town known for its fossils and rocks.
In the afternoon, we'll make our journey along the Ziz River Valley. Finally, when we get in Erfoud, we will hop in 4x4s and travel out to the dunes.
Sahara Desert | (B, D)
Today, we'll set up a camel caravan on the dunes for the much-anticipated sunrise photo.
Then we'll head back to the lodge for breakfast, and you'll have some time to rest on the dunes.
In the afternoon, we'll embark on a half-hour camel ride out into the dunes, where you can take photos around sunset.
We'll sleep in luxury tents in the desert tonight (glamping), but you're welcome to return to the Auberge if you like.
Sahara / Dades Gorges / Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou | (B, D)
After breakfast in the desert, we'll return to the Auberge and drive to Ouarzazate.
We'll cross through the Dades Gorges on our way to Ouarzazate. Finally, we'll make our way to Kasbah Ait Benhaddou.
Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou | (B, D)
We'll start the day photographing sunrise at the Kasbah, then return to the hotel for breakfast before returning to the Kasbah.
The Kasbah has appeared in more films and television shows than any other Moroccan place, including Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, The Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. In true Moroccan tradition, true photographic treasures must be sought out and discovered...usually off the beaten road.
This afternoon is open for you to swim and relax in the Hamam or have an image review session with the tour guides.
Ait Ben Haddou / Marrakech | (B, B)
We'll continue our trek to Marrakech today. First, we'll stop for lunch on the picturesque Tich-n-Tichka Pass.
When we arrive in Marrakech, we'll check into our hotel before heading to the iconic Jemaa el-Fna medina area for a sunset picture shoot in the evening.
At night, the area comes alive with local storytellers, entertainers, and tantalizing BBQ fires.
Marrakech | (B, B)
After breakfast, the party will go on a guided tour of Marrakech, Morocco's southern treasure. The Majorelle Gardens will be our first stop, followed by the majestic Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el-Fna.
You will have time in the afternoon to study your images and share them with the group. The Riad will host a farewell meal.
Marrakech - Essaouira | (B)
Today is the tour's final day.
Your driver will transport you to the airport after breakfast and at the appropriate hour.
If you stick with the extension, we'll drive to the beach city of Essaouria today.
Anyone who enjoys photography will tell you that Essaouira is one of Morocco's most picturesque cities. It is a wonderfully stunning destination to spend a couple of days strolling with your camera, with its charming whitewashed buildings, brilliantly painted doors, hidden lanes, and sandy coastal promenade.
Imagine twisting lanes and maze-like souks leading to the Atlantic Ocean's smashing azure waves. In this delightfully sunny coastal city, there is no shortage of fantastic photographic chances.
So why not make it a Morocco picture tour and include Essaouria? Its fascinating history and gorgeous scenery make it a photographer's dream!
Essaouira / El Jadida / Casablanca | (B, D)
This morning, we'll take the coast route to Casablanca. El Jadida, a historic city, will be visited and photographed. We'll arrive in Casablanca late in the afternoon and spend our final night in a hotel near the airport.
Casablanca Departure (B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport via free airport shuttle.
