Day 1

Arrive to Marrakech

Our committed staff will be there to make sure your transfer from the airport to your hotel is easy and seamless when you arrive in Marrakech. Our amiable and well-informed staff will greet you warmly and help with your luggage as soon as you land, letting you unwind and enjoy the beginning of your Moroccan self-drive adventure right away.

We'll give you a thorough briefing before your tour begins in order to go over the exciting schedule and address any questions you may have. We will also give you the keys to your well-maintained 4x4 vehicles, which are indispensable for discovering Morocco's breathtaking scenery and undiscovered treasures. Our meticulous attention to detail and dedication to your comfort will create the ideal environment for an amazing and life-changing trip through this captivating location.

DAY 2

Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

After enjoying a filling breakfast in Marrakech, you will head east through the windy Tizi Ntichka pass and the high Atlas Mountains to begin your private self-drive adventure in Morocco. There will be several breaks along the way to take in the scenery, stop for a cup of coffee, stretch your legs, and take pictures. The Telouet Kasbah, which belonged to the Glaoui family, the lords of the Atlas, is reached by taking a side road off the main route. Every building extension is now in ruins and is open to the elements. After the last Pasha left the nation in 1956 when the French left, the Kasbah was left empty and looted. 

Proceed to drive past Ait Ben Haddou hamlet, the location of the Star Wars filming. The UNESCO has designated the fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou as one of the world's cultural treasures. It is regarded as one of the most exquisite settlements of its kind in Morocco, with its structures embellished with geometrical designs and studded with crenelated towers. Currently, a restoration initiative is being implemented to stimulate the village's population, which currently consists of only five families.

After having lunch in Ait Ben Haddou you continue to Ouarzazate, which marks the beginning of the Sahara desert. Visit Taourirt Kasbah. This former Glaoui residence, situated on the edge of the town, on the road to Morocco Sahara desert, is considered to be one of the most beautiful kasbahs of Morocco. Finally get dropped off at your hotel/riad in the late afternoon.

DAY 3

Ouarzazate – Dades gorges – Nkob – Zagora

After your breakfast in Ouarzazate you continue driving through Skoura Oasis and visit the famous Amridil Kasbah that was originally founded in the 17th century.

From here the route goes through Kelaat Magouna, the valley of Roses with a stop to see cosmetic articles locally-made from the valley’s abundant roses, after this stop you will drive up to the Dades valley A twisting piece of blacktop known by locals as the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” leads to the famous Dades Gorge in the beautiful countryside of Morocco.

Whether you consider them one gorge or several, the scenic valleys of the Dades River are lined with hundreds of Islamic cities, citadels, palm trees, and desert sands, which make it one of the most historic roads in the country, where you will have a stop to stretch your legs by having a walk through the gorges and taking a peak at the landscape on the other side.

You will hite the road through Nkob for a lunch stop here in a restaurant with a panoramic view, In the afternoon we will drive further west to Tansikht on the banks of the Draa valley is full of large palm trees and ancient Kasbahs. Then you go along the track of the ancient caravan route which worked its way north from the Sahara to Zagora with its precious cargos from Mali and Niger.

DAY 4

Zagora – M’hamid el ghizlane – Erg Chegaga

Your self-driving adventure leads you today from Zagora to the beautiful Sahara desert camp in the Moroccan Sahara, at the amazing dunes of Erg Chegaga. The route follows the Draa River Valley to reach Tamegroute, it historically served as a hub of learning and religion through its famous Sufi zawiya. This was a historical center of the Nasiriyya order, one of the most influential Sufi orders in the Islamic world.

From here drive directly through M’hamid for a two hours off-road to arrive at the Sahara desert camp with chance to freshen up in your tent and take a shower if needed. Here you will have the chance to ride your camel heading to the highest dunes to catch the sunset from a beautiful spot in the dunes. Enjoy traditional berber music next to the campfire after dinner.

DAY 5

Erg chegaga – Foum Zguid – Tata

After breakfast, your desert self-drive tour takes you west through another 90 klm of the desert with varying scenery: Lake Iriqui, where you are likely to experience a wide mirage in the heat, the mountains and the fossils. Lunch will be in Foum Zguid, the first village after the desert.

At the edge of the desert at Foum Zguid, we return west along the edge of the desert along asphalted road towards Tata which few people visit. From here we continue west to Tata where is worth visiting the Kasbah and the small museum. Overnight in Tata.

DAY 6

Tata – Ait Mansour Gorges - Tafraoute

Today, hite the road through Ait Mansour gorges via the dusty road of Akka Gold mining and Afla Ighir. The Aït Mansour Gorges, winds discreetly inside the ancestral mountain range of the Anti-Atlas, between the rocky and arid slopes, proudly stands one of the most beautiful palm groves in the south which offers an Extraordinary Panorama.

picturesque climbing villages glued to the cliffs, the Oasis is in permanent greenery, the water is abundant, Almond trees, Palm trees, Olive trees... lunch will be as picnic with a panoramic view in Ait Mansour Valley.

From here you follow the track to the Painted Rocks that stands as a natural desert landscape with an artistic touch. Giant granite boulders were painted bright blue in 1987 by Belgian artist Jean Verame as a tribute to his late wife, and the bright hues are still visible today.

Overnight in Tafraoute.

DAY 7

Tafraoute – Tiznit – Guelmim

After breakfast in Tafraoute, you drive directly for about 72 klm with a vast range of Argan trees until Tiznit, that is strategically situated between the Atlantic coast and Atlas Mountains. This beautiful town is not only renowned for its beautiful culture but it also one of the best places in Morocco to find locally made berber jewelry, here we will have a small visit to one of the most known areas in Tiznit where you will see how the craftsmen made Moroccan Jewelry.

Then we will drive for about 107 klm through Guelmim now your dream eventually become a reality, and you are now on the doorstep of the Sahara. This is territory of blue people so called because of the indigo-dyed robes they wear. The lunch will be planned depends your preferences.

We will have a stop at white beach “Playa Blanca’’ that situated 60 klm from Guelmim on the Atlantic ocean to catch its magical sunset before you end the day at your accommodation in Guelmim.

DAY 8

Guelmim – Fort Boujrif – Sidi Ifni – Legzira – Mirleft

After breakfast, continue driving on the dusty road to Fort Boujrif that was erected in 1935. It served as a surveillance post on the border with the enclave of Ifni north of the oued Noun. At first, it was occupied by horsemen, but these were then replaced by a group of Merharists much more adapted to the desert environment of the region. From here we continue driving through sidi ifini via the coastal road of sidi ouarzeg.

Lunch will be in sidi ifni that was inhabited by The Ait Baamran ethnic group and the surrounding region. The people worked in husbandry and traded with Europeans and northern Morocco, being intermediaries in the trans-Saharan trade. After lunch in sidi ifni we head to the wild beach of Legzira before end the day in Mirleft.

DAY 9

Mirleft – Tiznit – Souss Massa National Park - Taroudant

After breakfast in Mirleft we prepare our 4x4 for another good drive through Tiznit the place of manufacture of the finest jewels of the South of Morocco. There are daggers, horse saddles, Fantasia rifles, anklets, pendants that women attach to their chests or foreheads all decorated with semi-precious stones and enamels. After a calesh morning in Tiznit we drive directly to Souss Massa national park which is a must for nature lovers. Thanks to the tours offered, set off to meet the animals of the Sahara and migratory birds as well. Tours, accompanied by the Park’s eco-guides, are designed for a 100% Nature getaway. Notice to photographers, you will have dream landscapes to shoot (coastal cliffs, dunes, coastline, estuary and beaches).

After a great tour in Massa national park we end the day in Taroudant known as the little Marrakech.

DAY 10

Taroudant – Tizi N’Test – Ijoukak - Marrakech

After a calesh morning in the ramparts of Taroudant. we drive back to Marrakech via Tizi N’Test pass that was built by the French in the 1930s. After admiring lanscapes of the Tizi N’Test, we will drive 1h20 to reach and visit Tin Mal Mosque in an isolated setting at the foot of the Atlas, it is the last remaining sign of the Almohad conquest in the 12th century.

DAY 11

Airport Marrakech

When the time comes to say goodbye to the fascinated city of Marrakech, our staff will make sure everything goes smoothly and that your journey ends with a drop-off at Marrakech Airport.
