Marrakesh – Bin El Ouidane (approx. 220 km)
After breakfast, we start our journey towards Bin El Ouidane. We will head towards the High Atlas on normal roads to warm up so you can get used to your drive as well as local driving habits before tackling the winding mountain roads that will provide an excellent insight to the great driving Morocco has to offer. We visit the scenic waterfalls of Ouzoud, where we will have some time to do a short walk around. Our stop for the night will be in a nice hotel on the border of the lake where you can relax by the pool or discuss the first day at the bar.
: Bin El Ouidane – Azrou (approx. 280 km)
We will leave the hotel in the morning and start our climb into the mountains with magnificent views of the lake beneath and the pine forests. We will tackle plenty of twists and turns on small and remote roads, before commencing our descent towards the national road and perfect tarmac towards Zaouiat Cheikh for our lunch break. From there we’ll head through Khenifra and on to Azrou, perched in the mountains. Our hotel will be at the edge of the cedar forest in a nice chalet-type establishment.
Azrou - Fes – Azrou (approx. 160 km)
As the sun rises, we'll venture on a picturesque journey to Fes in our 4WD vehicles, leaving behind the desert landscapes for the imperial charm of this historically rich city. Upon arrival, a guided exploration awaits, weaving through the labyrinthine streets of Fes, steeped in centuries of history and culture. Before immersing ourselves in the UNESCO World Heritage tanneries, a chance to switch into more comfortable shoes ensures a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
After a delightful lunch, retreat to the hotel for a leisurely afternoon, providing time for relaxation and personal pursuits. As evening descends, indulge in a sumptuous dinner, savoring the flavors of Morocco and reflecting on the day's cultural odyssey through the captivating Imperial City of Fes.
Azrou – Errachidia (approx. 260 km)
We will start the day with driving through the forests where we’ll have the opportunity to admire the quiet setting and maybe feed the Barbary Apes that live in the area. We will then tackle the climbing roads of the Middle-Atlas passing the high plateau of the mountain range. We will go through the French Foreign Legion tunnel towards Errachidia, the infamous old Dakar town, before reaching our accommodation for the night. You will likely see relics of Dakar – posters and stickers on garage walls – this part of Africa really misses Dakar as it became a way of life here and a cash generator.
Errachidia – Merzouga (approx. 125 km)
Today we will start our self-drive adventure to the Sahara Desert. We stop at our hotel in Merzouga where we leave the 4WD vehicles and have a great lunch. We will have multiple options for the afternoon:
You can follow the guide on your 4X4 to visit the ghost village of M’Fis and the old mines. Or you can also choose to relax by the pool or wander around the hotel. Before the sunset, you’ll have the option of driving to the big dunes with our 4x4 or on camel back, to watch the sunset, before heading to the camp for a fresh shower, a great dinner and some local music by the campfire.
Merzouga – Boumalne Dadès (approx. 270 km)
We’ll wake up before the sun today, to climb the dunes and admire a stunning sunrise before breakfast. We return to the camp, pick up our 4X4 and head to the Atlas. Our route will take us through deserted landscapes and some twisty sections before heading to the Todra Valley to drive beneath huge cliffs. We know you will be impressed. We will then drive our last leg to spend the night at the foot of the spectacular Atlas mountains in a superb hotel.
Boumalne Dadès – Bou Tharar - Ouarzazate (approx. 120 km)
Today, we're going to take you on an exciting journey off the beaten path through the dusty roads of Bou Tharar. We're going to visit the nomadic families who live in the distinctive caves scattered throughout the rough terrain. Savor the unadulterated beauty of the trip until you arrive at the charming village of Bou Tharar, where breathtaking views of the Mgoun Valley and fragrant roses bloom. We will have an incredibly immersive experience as we spend time with the nomadic communities and learn about their way of life. After exploring all morning, enjoy a delicious lunch in Kalaat Magouna. After the feast, we travel on to Ouarzazate, passing through the enthralling Skoura Oasis and stopping to admire the historic Kasbah of Amridil.
This day offers a unique fusion of stunning scenery, fascinating cultural exchanges, and the allure of Morocco's best-kept secrets.
Ouarzazate –Taznakht - Taroudant (approx. 290 km)
We’ll drive through the town of Ouarzazate and then head across the Anti Atlas for a coffee break in Tazenakht, the carpet capital of Morocco. We’ll then continue towards Taroudant through a stunning landscape scattered with Argan trees and will have lunch in Tallouine, famous for the production of saffron. Our stop for the day will be in a riyadh in the town of Taroudant, where you can take a nice walk to visit the local market. It is a great opportunity to buy some Argan oil if you so wish.
Taroudant – Agadir (approx. 160 km)
Starting off on a picturesque path, we travel through more isolated and smaller roads, discovering Morocco's hidden gems as we make our way to the magnificent Paradise Valley close to Agadir. This natural sanctuary, tucked away amid striking scenery, beckons us to lose ourselves in its calm beauty. From there, we follow the coast's magnetic pull, eager to reach our own paradise an attracting surf and yoga retreat. Here, peace and adventure collide as we experience the exhilarating atmosphere of the on-site surf school in addition to the restorative atmosphere of a stunning spa. Our yoga practice is complemented by the waves' rhythmic sounds, which create a mellow yet exhilarating atmosphere.
A beach bar beckons as the day breaks, providing the ideal atmosphere for relaxing and savoring the seaside charm. This all-inclusive itinerary promises a smooth blend of surf, yoga, and blissful relaxation in our private coastal retreat with the wonders of nature.
Agadir – Essaouira (approx. 150 km)
A nice coastal drive will take us to our next stop. Our adventure will take us through smaller country roads before arriving to the laidback coastal town of Essaouira. The afternoon we will visit Essaouira, exceptional example of a late-18th-century fortified town, built according to the principles of contemporary European military architecture in a North African context and the favourite city of Bob Marley. You will have the chance to explore the old medina, walk on the wide sandy beach, make a nice Segway drive or enjoy the laid-back souks and stellar seafood.
Essaouira – Marrakesh (approx. 220 km)
Our next day we will drive on the vast plains that lay between the Atlas and the Atlantic Ocean. Upon our arrival to Marrakech we’ll return the 4X4 to the studio, before transporting you to the hotel. We’ll meet in the evening for a memorable farewell dinner in town. Â
